Rita has considerable experience in dealing with Criminal Law and Employment Law, having been a HR Manager with both Fonterra and Carter Holt.
Rita specialises in employment law and works with clients to resolve problems related personal grievances, unjustifiable dismissals and other workplace issues.
In addition to employment law, Rita also specialises in criminal law, having successfully defended criminal clients in both judge alone and jury trials.
She represents clients in court who face criminal charges such as assaults, theft and sexual offending.
She also provides cost-effective representation on all traffic matters including excess breath alcohol and Limited Licence applications.
Prior to becoming a barrister in 2011, Rita spent 10 years working as an HR manager for companies such as Fonterra and Carter Holt so she fully understands the difficulties faced by both employers and employees.
She’s adept at resolving disputes quickly and effectively and works with businesses to guide them through disciplinary action, performance management and redundancy processes.
Rita holds a Nursing Degree, an MBA with distinction and a first-class Law Degree from Waikato University.
